ITINERARY

DAY 1

  • Start your day with a chill breakfast, then get picked up by our local guide anytime between 9:00 AM and noon whatever time works best for you.
  • We kick things off with a slow boat ride down the river, setting the mood before hiking gently uphill through rubber plantations. Soon you’ll reach the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park, where the real jungle begins.
  • As you enter the forest, keep your eyes open you might spot semi-wild orangutans, sometimes with their little ones hanging around up in the trees. No cages, no zoos just nature doing its thing. These rare encounters are the kind that stick with you for life.
  • After a quick break with tropical fruits, we keep moving deeper into the jungle. Along the way, you might meet long-tailed macaques, pig-tailed macaques, or even the funky-looking Thomas Leaf Monkeys swinging through the branches.
  • After a jungle jungle style, Continue your journey deeper into the jungle as you make your way to the campsite for the night. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for more fascinating wildlife playful Long tailed Macaques, sturdy Pig-tailed Macaques, the quirky Thomas Leaf Monkeys with their mohawk-like hair, and the stealthy Monitor Lizards wandering through the forest floor.
  • Around 4:00 pm, you’ll arrive at the campsite either by the riverside or near a waterfall. It’s time to relax with a cup of tea or coffee and take in the peaceful jungle atmosphere. You can also go for a refreshing swim. Meanwhile, your guide will prepare a delicious local dinner, usually consisting of curry, rice, and other homemade dishes.
  • As night falls, gather around the bonfire to chat, play card games, or simply enjoy the company of your local guides, Sleep comfortably in a simple jungle tent, sheltered by a bamboo frame and plastic cover and let the soothing sounds of nature lull you to sleep.

DAY 2

  • Start your morning with the soothing sounds of the rainforest and a freshly prepared breakfast at your jungle campsite a peaceful way to begin your second day.
  • Once you’re ready, set off on a 3 hour trek deeper into the rainforest. Stay observant this stretch is a great chance to spot more wildlife in their natural habitat.
  • Take a break for lunch surrounded by lush greenery and the calming hum of the jungle. After lunch, continue your journey with another 3-hour walk to reach your second campsite.
  • Depending on the location, cool off with a swim in the river or under a waterfall a refreshing treat after a day of hiking.
  • In the evening, gather around the campfire for a hearty traditional dinner, and enjoy jungle tales shared by your guide under the stars, Rest well sheltered by a bamboo frame and plastic cover and let the soothing sounds of nature lull you to sleep.

DAY 3

  • Wake up feeling like a true jungle explorer after your second night in the heart of the rainforest. Start your final day with a warm, homemade breakfast to fuel the adventure ahead.
  • After breakfast, Today’s trek will last between 4 to 6 hours, with regular breaks to spot wildlife, enjoy your lunch, and taste some delicious tropical fruits.
  • This part of the trek gives you a chance to spot all 8 monkey species living in Gunung Leuser National Park : Sumatran Orangutans, Long-tailed and Pig-tailed Macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Silver Leaf Monkeys, and if you’re lucky, the elusive Siamangs, Slow Lorises, and White handed Gibbons.
  • Bird lovers might also catch a glimpse of the majestic Great Argus or a soaring Hornbill overhead. No matter which path you choose, this last day in the wild will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.No matter the route, s the forest embraces you at your third campsite, unwind after the trek with a warm jungle dinner under the stars and the sounds of nature all around. DAY 4

  • On your fourth morning after breakfast, venture further off the beaten path. Wade through jungle streams, walk under the thick canopy, and discover hidden gems like waterfalls and secret forest trails. Stop for lunch surrounded by nature and feel the peaceful energy of the jungle around you.
  • As the journey continues, your guide will share fascinating insights about local plants, including those used in traditional jungle medicine. In the afternoon, arrive at your final campsite. Help set up the tents, relax with a warm cup of tea or coffee, and listen to the jungle wind down.
  • If you’re still craving adventure, another night walk can be arranged to track nocturnal creatures once again. This is your final night in the wild embrace the stillness, far away from modern life.
  • Rest well tomorrow is your final trek through the Sumatra rainforest.

DAY 5

  • Your final day in the jungle begins with a comforting breakfast, the perfect way to ease into the morning after five full days of adventure. As the forest slowly fades behind you, enjoy one last lunch surrounded by nature
  • On your last morning, enjoy one more breakfast in the heart of the rainforest. The day’s hike will be tailored to your preferences you decide the pace and what you’d like to experience before wrapping up your trek.
  • After lunch in the heart of the forest, it’s time for one last thrill a traditional tubing ride known as the Jungle Taxi. Float down the Bohorok River, feel the splash of the cool water, and take in the lush scenery as you make your way back to Bukit Lawang.
  • Back at your guesthouse, you’ll take with you more than just pictures you’ll leave with powerful experiences and timeless memories from deep within the Sumatran jungle.
