  • After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your guesthouse around 8:45 AM and drive you about 30 minutes to the peaceful village of Batu Katak, nestled along the Berkail River. This lesser-known gem, located between Bukit Lawang and Bohorok, is home to the Karo people who are deeply committed to preserving their rainforest.
  • Your jungle adventure begins with the sound of morning Siamangs echoing through the trees. Trek into pristine nature cross rivers, wander through rubber plantations, and explore caves surrounded by lush vegetation.
  • The highlight of this trip is searching for two of the rarest and largest flowers in the world: Amorphophallus titanum the tallest flower on Earth and Rafflesia arnoldii the world’s largest (and smelliest) .
  • Your local guide knows the forest like the back of his hand and will take you to the best spots for sightings. Even if the flowers are not blooming, the trek offers a rewarding experience: mysterious caves, refreshing waterfalls, and rich biodiversity including gibbons, siamangs, and maybe even wild orangutans!
  • Midday, you’ll stop by the river or jungle clearing for a tasty local lunch—nasi goreng and fresh tropical fruits. After the break, continue your trek deeper into the forest or relax by a jungle waterfall.
  • End the day with a cool swim in the Berkail River before heading back to Bukit Lawang. You’ll return to your guesthouse between 4:00–5:00 PM.
