Day 1. After breakfast, your guides will collect you at 8.30am from your guesthouse and you will start your journey into the jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park to see wild orangutans. On your trek (6-7 hours), your guides will educate you on the local wildlife, flora and fauna you may encounter in Gunung Leuser. After lunch, you will continue your trek to see other wildlife (if you’re lucky you may see the Thomas’ leaf monkey, white-handed gibbon, black gibbon, long-tailed macaque, pig-tailed macaque, hornbills, peacocks and monitor lizards) and learn about the trees/plants which can be used in traditional medicine.
Late afternoon-your guides will select a suitable spot next to the river to set-up camp below Mount Jamur Batu or Batu Gajah on the banks of the Landak River, an area of outstanding natural beauty. You are then free to enjoy the river, help prepare dinner or even learn some jungle skills. Before settling down to sleep surrounded by the sounds of the jungle and river.
Day 2. Our second day was not as long as the first, after breakfast and enjoying the flowing river, we will return to Bukit Lawang, after which return by ‘jungle raft’ or walk, at your choice.
When you wake up, the sounds of the jungle will captivate you.
9 am: We eat breakfast together
You can hike for about three hours or relax at the stunning waterfall next to your campsite
14:00: Take a jungle raft down the Bohorok river back to the village – about 1 hour we will arrive at the guesthouse.

You also need to bring at least one large (1.5l) bottle of water, for each person, this you can buy locally for around $0.50.

Day 1: Packed lunch, freshly cooked dinner including drinking water (mention if you are Vegetarian , everything you need to sleep in the jungle – mat, sleeping bag and tent.
Day 2.: Breakfast lunch. Assemble the jungle inner tube with the rafting skipper, and your life jacket, dry plastic bags to keep your gear dry.
Entrance permit to the Gunung Leuser National Park/camera tax (10 Euros/person payable to the national park office), other meals and drinks where not stated above as included, flights, visa and insurance.
