After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the guest house around 09:00.
You will start the trip to Tangkahan by air-conditioned jeep for ±2 hours along a bumpy road through villages and oil palm plantations.
Tangkahan is a small village on the border of Gunung Leuser National Park in North Sumatra. Situated at the confluence of 2 rivers, Sungai Buluh and Sungai Batang, you will start your discovery with views of the Buluh River via a large wooden bridge and discover the natural and unspoiled environment of Tangkahan.

Spend 2 hours trekking with Elephas maximus sumatrensis through the forests of Gunung Leuser national park, where your guide will explain how Tangkahan became a protected area for elephants, as well as show you the local flora, fauna and wildlife and bathe the elephants together.

Spend an hour to see the Sumatran elephants up close. Not only will you bathe and feed them, but if you’re lucky, you’ll also get to bathe the elephants and take photos with them.
